Mithini Medical Camp

The Challenge

According to a World Bank report (2016), one doctor in Murang'a County sees up to 38,000 people which means most financially challenged families do not get access to quality medical care.

Murang’a County also suffers from many waterborne diseases, such as malaria, amoebiasis, cholera and typhoid among others.

Therefore, there was a great need to bring the free medical camp to the people of Mithini.

Safaricom Foundation in partnership with the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre took a free medical camp to the people of Mithini.

The Safaricom Foundation invested Kshs2.5 million in this camp which will host a number of clinics such as diabetes, dental, prostate and cervical cancer, hypertension, VCT, family planning, deworming as well as general care services
